Home Security Progression

By Pierre Levingston

The home security industry continues to surprise as it keeps bringing new innovation to a market that's growing in demand as much as it's growing in innovation. Demand for home security has grown substantial since the recession hit last year. Home invasions are on the rise as people become more desperate to get by. Fortunately, the home security industry is ready to answer the demand.

The answer that home security professionals are providing is their home alarms. These aren't your average alarms either. The alarms that are being manufactured and offered across the united states are the stuff that sci-fi movies are made out of. Now sensors on your home security system can monitor the frequency of breaking glass. Now smoke detectors can call the fire department on their own.

What I learned about alarms that day is that they've become so customizable. Medical problems? They have a medical pendant you can wear and activate for help. Concerned about a fire? Now smoke detectors come in the monitored variety. These will actually call the fire department if there's ever a house fire while you're away. The salesman even offered me a keyfob-like a garage door opener for your alarm that turns it on an off remotely.

Once I settled on the alarm equipment I wanted, we discussed how to customize the security system to fit the layout of my house. We finally decided on a home security system that consisted of three door sensors to protect the main entries to my home, a monitored heat and smoke detector, and a keyfob. This security system, he assured me, would keep my home safe while I was away.

So I guess I learned that even though buying a home security system is a more complex endeavor than I thought, I'm glad I got it. I just worry less when I'm away from home now knowing that I've got a nice new high tech alarm that's keeping my place safe until I come home. - 29958
