By Garyl Hany

Acne is a type of skin problem that plugged or inflamed the skin pores. It plagues the skins of men and women in all ages. The misconceptions are women are more concern about acne than men and real men don't care about their appearance.

It is a fact that for most of us physical appearance and skin condition are crucial. In some instances, even a small sign of acne can cause hysteria. However, in this commercialized world, some men now act towards acne the same way women do. And acne is a condition that should never be ignored.

We usually fail to see the behavior of men towards acne because they are affected in later years than women. Sad to say, men are more prone to symptoms of acne and they do not have more options to hide their acne than women. As a result, the psychological impact is much greater.

According to some men, it is much harder for them to hide their acne because they can't use makeup. More so, they can't treat their acne with oral contraceptive pill because it can hinder the development of their reproductive system.

Like women, some men with acne have low self-confidence. These men are too conscious about their appearance but you can't judge them as gay. For these men, physical appearance can give them an edge when courting and dating.

Men affected by the psychological effects of acne dressed inappropriately and have behavioral issues. They usually withdrew themselves from crowds and friends that sometimes they are misunderstood as anti-social.

These men can't easily make a relationship as their self-esteem is affected. They usually think negatively about themselves. Regrettably, few people understand how they feel. In the long run, they become more defiant and suppress more anger.

In conclusion, acne can slow down the social development of men. Acne on men should be treated if it already affects their way of life. Narrow-mindedness can't help men cope up with their surrounding. - 29958
