How Does A Flueless Heater Work?

By Mike P Reader

Heating homes in the winter season has always been of great concern for the people living in colder regions. Throughout the history, many solutions have been sought out to solve this problem with as much efficiency as possible. Flueless gas heaters are the latest addition to this continuous struggle to find better, cheaper, and more efficient solutions to heating needs of the people.

Chimneys, in which the heaters are placed, pass out most of the heat, produced by the conventional heaters. According to thermal laws, hot air always rises above so, the heat produced by the conventional heaters passes out from the chimneys, causing the heaters to consume a lot of fuel to maintain the required room temperature.

The mechanism of flueless gas heaters enables it to fully combust the fuel. The specially designed apparatus helps in doing this job. The resulting exhaust only consists of carbon dioxide and water vapours, which do not pose threat to human health even with limited ventilation, provided that the rooms are of standard size. Natural gas is the primary source of energy for flueless gas heaters, however, ethanol, that has proved to be more effective than natural gas is also used as an alternate energy source. The latest catalytic technology has been developed to ensure complete combustion of the fuel. Therefore, it produces only carbon dioxide and water vapours as its by-product.

Flueless gas heaters have been hailed remarkably well in countries like the Unites States and Australia; while it has lately been introduced in the United Kingdom by a company known as Burley. Flueless heaters are extremely useful, and are one of the easy to use home-appliances. This is the reason why they have become poplar in record short time. They are easily available in all stores that sell heating equipments.

Central heating systems are the best available options for heating up your homes to the desired level, but in extreme cold season, it becomes necessary to go for extra heating options as well. Flueless gas heaters give you the optimum heating source that work well even with little ventilation. Since they have the ability to fully combust the fuel, flueless gas heaters are more economical and fuel efficient than their counterparts, and save fuel rather than wasting it.

As these flueless heaters are not placed in the fireplace, heat does not escape through the chimney and thus, this fact gives these heaters an edge over other conventional heaters; they can control the temperature of a room with very less fuel consumption than normal heaters.

Flueless gas heaters can operate without the utility connection which makes them portable. You can put these wherever you want, or move them around the house from one room to another very easily. There are different kinds of flueless gas heaters. They may come in the shape of a fireplace, which can simply beautify your room, or they may come in other forms and designs inspired by hi-tech architecture, that gives a modern look to your room.

Research has shown that flueless heaters are 3.5 times more efficient in heating up the room for every kilowatt of fuel input as compared to traditional heaters. In a layman language, it simply means that flueless heaters are 3.5 more fuel-efficient than traditional heaters. These are also safer to be used inside our homes because they do not give out harmful fumes in the environment as opposed to traditional heaters that give out carbon mono oxide, a very poisonous gas. - 29958
